Cork is such a wonderful material. It is the bark of the cork oak tree and is 100% natural, renewable, recyclable and biodegradable.
Cork is harvested by hand typically every 9 years by skilled workers using traditional methods going back thousands of years.
It is incredibly versatile and used for so many different things in our everyday lives, including wine corks, shoes, backpacks, flooring and insulation, sports equipment, and in the automotive and aerospace industries.
Aside from cork being such a wonderful material to work with.... it is also super lightweight and really soft to the touch, making Hello Lovely cork jewelry a pleasure to wear all day.
Plus, I use every single little scrap of cork that I can, and then any teeny tiny pieces left from that go in the compost. No garbage, ever.
